Don't play with knife

I shot few shutter of the sky this afternoon. It was a bit cloudy, but still managed to see the blue sky. So i thought this must be the perfect time to try the CPL filter I got. Here are the results:

Hmm.. I think blogger changes the colour profile of my pictures, it doesn't seem so dull in my screen when I open it. Anyway, the comparison should be the same.

The top picture taken without the CPL effect where as the bottom one taken with CPL.
The difference:
The sky looks more interesting with CPL because the colour of the sky and the cloud is more vivid.
The overall colour is more 'correct' in terms there's more yellow compare to the top picture that is more blueish.. never mind if you can't see the difference.

However, an interesting note is that, if you got a UV filter, and you stack it with the CPL, you might get vignette at 18mm. For me this looks a bit cool, but not all the pictures I suppose.
Also, the image quality will also suffer if go through too many glass element. According to minimuffin(the person who sell the filter), when the manufacturer make the lenses, they don't make considering this factor, lenses are made without the filter. Hence best image quality should be without any lens filter. However, I think I need a filter to protect my lens la.. Later spoil habislah.

oh wrote too much. this is the picture with double filter at 18mm.

On another note, I just got a cut. Trying to make a pop flash diffuser, however the material is not good la. So diffuser tak jadi, and then got a slice on the finger.

Not pain, no blood, just a slice, which I didn't even notice. However, don't play with blade. End of story.

The duller look of your pictures online is because your pictures colour profiles aren't sRGB. All browsers (except Safari) only reads sRGB colour profile, thus if any other colour profiles is used, it will be ignored.

yea i've heard of it. so how do i change it to sRGB colour profile if I used adobe RGB in the picture?

You can change the colour profile under "Edit>Assign Profile" in Photoshop, and then resaving the file after that. In Photoshop CS4, when you Save As Web, there's an option to enable saving in sRGB profile. There are other applications such as Adobe Lightroom which can help you manage your photos and batch output your pics into sRGB.

Do know that while sRGB is ideal for viewing pics on the web, it is not ideal for print. Adobe RGB is a better choice for printing output.
